About Us

Adventure, tranquility and everything in between

People that see Camp Pepin for the first time are amazed at its picturesque beauty. The bluffs, the lake, and the woods give this region a unique character that has attracted people to the upper Mississippi valley for years. Add to that the campers, the staff, and the rich history which are so much a part of Camp Pepin, and that is what makes this place a jewel among camps. Camping, like many Y programs, is about learning new skills, developing character and making friends. But few environments are as special as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social and educational activities. Camp teaches self-reliance, a love for nature and the outdoors, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character and leadership—all amidst the fun of camp fires, bugle calls, canoeing, archery, talent shows, and meaningful relationships.
