Mayo Clinic River City Ramble 2015
2 Mile Walk, 5K Run/Walk & Kid's Fun Run

The beautiful historic River City Ramble is comprised of 3 options. We offer a 2 Mile Course and a 5K course that loops through Red Wing's historical district. The Kids Fun Run gets all involved in the joy of running! Registration is required for all 3 options. Stick around after the event to enjoy the River City Day's festivities!
5K Run/Walk- 8:00 AM
For ages 7+
Begins on Fourth Street, the first portion is slightly uphill, and the middle section is a flat loop through a residential area with beautiful vistas overlooking the Mississippi River and Red Wing. The last portion of the run/walk returns to Fourth Street and is downhill to the finish line. Open to all ability levels. Please contact Martha Harris with route questions.
2 Mile Walk- 8:30 AM
For all ages
Begins on Fourth Street, going slightly uphill to Jefferson Street, loop the neighborhood by following the signs then head downhill to Franklin Street, up to 5th St West and follow the signs a few blocks to the finish line. Open to all ages & abilities. Course closes 1 hour from start.
KIDS FUN RUN- 9:00 AM
For ages 2-10
The Kids Fun Run is designed to give all youth a positive experience running or walking in a safe environment. Family and friends are welcome to run with small children. The course is approximately 1K. Prepare for a fun energizing warm up and a great spectator race!
Registration: Required and a waiver must be signed.
Free t-shirts for Kids Fun Run participants will be available until we run out. Sizes are not guaranteed.

5K & 2 Miler
Timing by Jesse Nelson for both the 5K & 2Miler. Results will be posted at Central Park and announced at the awards ceremony following the Kids Fun Run. They will be posted online at redwingymca.org within 24 hours of the event.
Proceeds benefit the Red Wing Family YMCA & Camp Pepin scholarship fund.
Facilities: On-site restrooms; showers and changing facilities available at the Red Wing Family YMCA. The pool/hot tub are also available after the races for participants. Bring a towel.
Packet Pick-Up: Early pick-up Friday, July 31st from 1-4 p.m. at the Red Wing Family YMCA. Race day pick-up 6:30-7:30 a.m. at Central Park. Registration closes at 7:30am.
There will be one water stop on the 5K course.

-July 31st & Race day registration: $30
Overall M/F champions in the 5K AND 2Miler will receive a handcrafted Red Wing Stoneware Water Pitcher. Age group awards go to three places for the 5K & 2Miler. First place age grouper M/F's will receive a Red Wing Stoneware mini crock. Second and Third place age groupers will receive race medals.

At the Y we believe that getting fit starts by taking one step at a time. For many in our community, taking that step can be a challenge and keeping up with a fitness plan even more so.
We are please to continue the tradition of partnering with Mayo Clinic Health System Cannon Falls, Lake City and Red Wing to to bring you "Get Ready to Ramble". This program was designed by certified professionals from both Mayo Clinic Health System - Cannon Falls, Lake City and Red Wing and the Red Wing Family YMCA. The program developers lead this evidence based 10 week program appropriate for people of all ages and abilities. Come alone or bring your family or a friend and join us for a great journey into better health!
Participants in the program will receive:
- 10-week training plan with space for goal setting & record keeping
- 10 "Learn from the Expert" sessions every Monday at 5:15 p.m.
- 10 guided walks or runs during the session
- Help developing a plan to sustain your new level of fitness
- Post walk or run cool down
- Weekly e-mails that motive, educate and inspire
At each session, we will break into walking and running groups as follows:
- 2 Miler Walking Program: A beginning program that will take you from 0 to 2 Miler in 6 to 10 weeks with the goal of completing the 2Miler and feeling great afterwards!
5K Run Program: For moderate exercisers who what to take on the challenge of running the 5K, even if you have never run before.
Registration is $15/person includes a t-shirt, printed training materials, weekly educational instruction and guided runs/walks. A basic option is available for $5/person. If price is a barrier to participation, please contact Martha Harris. Click here to register.
