Our older campers are in a position to share with our younger campers some of the skills and experiences that have been taught to them. In doing this, they must take on certain levels of responsibility in keeping the traditions of YMCA Camp Pepin alive for the next generation.
Counselors in Training (CIT)
Entering grades 11-12
Two-week session: June 18 - June 30
Some of our best staff were once campers themselves at Camp Pepin, and the Counselors-In-Training (CIT) program helps to foster this exciting transition. Campers enrolled in this session gain hands-on training in what being a staff member is all about.

Leaders in Training (LIT)
Entering grades 9-10
Two-week session: July 9 - July 21
The LIT program is a two-week session designed for teens who are still looking to attend camp, while also developing valuable leadership skills useful for the road ahead. As a group, LITs work through our challenge courses, assist counselors with instruction, and grow as leaders in a community – both at Camp and in the “real world.” Our leadership programs focus on effective communication and collaboration, while also defining what it means to be a leader.
