Annual Campaign

When you support the Red Wing YMCA, you strengthen our community, you make a better us. As the nation’s leading nonprofit for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y uses your gift to make a meaningful, enduring impact right in your own local area. Your donation ensures those who need us most have access to quality programs, activities and facilities—designed to help kids thrive and advance diversity and inclusion. Financial contributions from individuals and families allow us to remove financial barriers to being an active member of the Y community. For example, an annual gift of:

  • $2,500 will help 30 children from low-income backgrounds have fun, make friends and be nurtured by trained, caring counselors in the Y’s summer programs.
  • $1,500 will enroll 10 children for the entire school year in our after-school program that provides a safe, caring and positive learning environment.
  • $1,000 will give 10 underserved youth an opportunity to attend day camp OR two kids will be able to spend a week at overnight camp.
  • $500 will allow a family in need to enjoy all the benefits—in spirit, mind and body—that a year-long Y membership provides.
  • $250 will help an adult be part of our 12-week LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program for cancer survivors

Endowment - Heritage Club

A heritage of community strength leaving a legacy for generations. The Red Wing Family YMCA was built and has grown throughout the years thanks to a heritage of giving. Established with a gift from philanthropist James Lawther, each subsequent generation of Red Wing residents has chosen to build on this tremendous legacy.

The Red Wing Family YMCA plays such a pivotal role in Red Wing today because it is available to all of the city’s residents – not just those who can afford to belong. The Y was built on a gift, and every major upgrade over the years has been paid for with donations from the community. Without this expense to bear, rates for memberships have always been affordable, and no one is turned away because they can’t afford to belong.

A Future backed by an ENDOWMENT

An endowment that generates a consistent revenue stream allows us to:

  • Keep membership rates as affordable as possible, and provide assistance to anyone who needs it.
  • Sustain high levels of programming, and adapt to changing programming needs as our community changes.
  • Pay for the ongoing maintenance needs that our fabulous facility requires.
  • Replace and upgrade equipment throughout the building.

Be a part of our HERITAGE

The Y’s forefathers were forward looking and thoughtful in creating the endowment. Now, it’s our turn to grow it. Consider making a gift that is personally significant to you, either now or through your estate plan, and help keep this heritage thriving for generations to come
