Camp Pepin's Teen Camps offer diverse experiences for teens—from traditional summer camp fun to leadership development in Leaders in Training and hands-on training in Counselors in Training. Each experience is transformative, blending challenging activities, outdoor exploration, skill-building, and personal growth. This dynamic journey fosters lasting friendships, self-discovery, and leadership skills, extending far beyond the campfire glow.
Open to campers entering Grades 10 to 12
Progress in your camp experience with our Counselors-in-Training (CIT) program, a comprehensive two-week session designed to instill confidence in leadership, mentorship, and teaching skills. In the first week, CIT campers delve into all facets of a counselor's role, mirroring Camp's staff training. Engaging activities cover topics such as basic child development, behavior management, counseling techniques, communication and leadership, environmental stewardship, and community service. The second week acts as an internship, placing CITs with cabin groups to shadow counselors and gain hands-on experience, providing a firsthand understanding of the responsibilities and rewards of being a summer camp counselor. Upon completion, CIT campers leave ready to contribute both at Camp and in their communities.

The LIT program is a two-week session designed for teens who are still looking to attend camp, while also developing valuable leadership skills useful for the road ahead. As a group, LITs work through our challenge courses, assist counselors with instruction, and grow as leaders in a community – both at Camp and in the “real world.” Our leadership programs focus on effective communication and collaboration, while also defining what it means to be a leader.
